Ricky Smith is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) certified by the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP). He also hold a Certification Reliability Leader (CRL) by the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP).

Ricky Smith has over 35 years of experience in manufacturing, facilities, mining, foods, military and many other types of organizations as both a practitioner and change agent in maintenance reliability worldwide. He worked in two corporate roles, one as a global reliability engineering leader and the other as a corporate maintenance engineering leader. At the site level, he began his career as a maintenance technician at Exxon Company USA, Alumax Mt. Holly (This plant was rating the best in the world for 18 years) and Hercules Chemical, providing the foundation for his maintenance reliability experience.
Ricky has written for different magazine during the past 35 years on the technical, reliability and maintenance subjects.
Ricky is past Chairman of The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals, SIG, which has seven regional directors globally. He is past Chairman of the SMRP's Mining Special Interest Group.
